training Most meeting rooms have to be used for many different purposes which means
you need furniture which is flexible. A great big veneer boardroom table is fine for the AGM but what about the rest of the year.
You should always design your meeting room on the basis of what it will be used for, for most of the time, in the same way as you don’t buy a 4×4 if you live in the middle of the city ( OK that is probably not a good example)
But if you think smart you can actually have it both ways.
Big solid tables look good but are impossible to reconfigure, and training tables are light and easy to move around, but when made into one big table for a large meeting they look terrible. A sea of legs and uneven tops greet your executives or your customers.
The simple way round this dilemma is flip top tables, which as the name suggests, is a table which has a
flip top. The frame is basically a beam with an I frame at each end, which means that the vertical supports of the frame are in the middle, rather than in each corner. This means that you don’t notice the legs so much when the tables are placed in a group together. These frames are on castors which makes them easy to move around. These castors are lockable which gives the table more stability when they are being used.
At the top of the frame is a steel frame which supports the table top, and this frame hinges over the base so that the desk top can be locked in the vertical or horizontal position. It is as simple as that. Pull the lever and the top pivots up and locks in position. Pull it again and you can push the table top done and it will lock in position ready for use.
The tables stack very easily against each other taking up very little room. Anyone can change a 16 person meeting room into a lunch buffet area in a matter of minutes.
The table tops themselves can be a simple or as sophisticated as you wish.
Meeting rooms which are constantly reconfigured for different purposes should have hard wearing plain tops in either a grey or a wood effect finish. These tops are resistant to just about everything, so are perfect for area
s which might suffer from a little abuse.
At the other end of the spectrum is the real wood veneer top, for areas that are mainly used as executive meeting rooms, but where some flexibility is required. Options such as cross-banded edges and inlays are available, and there is a wide range of real wood finishes to choose from.
Table connectors can be specified, which will lock all of the tops together to give you a uniform, level meeting surface.
Matching credenzas and Media walls complete the perfect picture to create a stylish and functional multi purpose meeting room.
