Planning your new office

Deciding on what will fit your office space is a daunting task which is best left to a professional office furniture dealer. Whilst you can download a basic drawing package from the internet, these will at best only contain generic furniture shapes and will not be able to show you what is available in the market today.

You need to call on the experience and expertise of someone who works in the industry and has resolved similar problems to yours, many times before.

Simple changes to desk design and layout can make a massive difference to how your office works for you, and  proper proportioning of you budget can get you an office chair that your back will really appreciate. Too many people spend all of their budget on expensive executive desking, and then can only afford a cheap office chair which  gives them backache before the week is out.
Many people shy away from furniture dealers as they think the service they offer will be costly, but in most cases the dealer will offer this service for free, provided that they are given the opportunity to quote for the new desks and seating.
Most professional business furniture dealers will also have a sophisticated CAD system which allows them to produce 3D renditions of your office space. It really take them no time as most of their products are already stored in 2 and 3D format within the system.  A few minutes to draw the outline of the office space, and then a few more to give this outline some 3 dimensional properties, is all it takes, and then the required furniture is just picked form a menu and placed in the drawing. A few minutes finishing and colouring and the drawing or rendition ir ready to be emailed of printed on photographic paper.

There is no better way of making sure that you are happy with your new office layout that see a virtual office before you have ordered a single piece of furniture.

With these 3D renditions your ideas come alive, and it’s very easy to tweak or change the layout to suit. Your office furniture dealer is also happier because it is much easier to fine tune an order from a plan, rather than once the furniture is being installed.
And most of this work can be done remotely. Once again most professional business furniture dealers will be able to work from a brief you have given them, together with a basic outline of the office area, which you have produced and measured.  If you can also supply a few pictures of the area they will get an even better idea of what you have and what you want.  All of this can be quickly emailed to the dealer, who is happy to work on it for free, as he has already saved  a few hours of travelling time.  If an order ensues, then the dealer will visit your offices if required to make sure that all the measurements are correct, in order avoid any future problems.
So  rather than struggle on trying to sort out your new layout yourself, just give a furniture dealer a call and you will be pleasantly surprised at  how helpful they can be, and just how much time you might save.

After all, you time is valuable so why waste it, and getting their initial advice and assistance is not going to cost you anything.

This is excellent advice - whenever you can get professional help for free it makes sense to take advantage of the opportunity. If you paid for this type of service, it would cost hundreds of dollars.

The point about saving drive time for office design specialists is well taken. As long as you have a to-scale blueprint of your office space, much of the initial consultation can be done electronically. Of course, you do need to actually walk your office to make sure no later structural modifications were made that need to be noted on your layout. If you do this before you schedule your free office design consultation, your design rep will be thrilled.
