office chairs Innovation is not the most used word in the office furniture industry but there are some new things out there which could change your life and the way your work. Well maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration but they are worth looking at. So in no particular order here goes :-
Desk top power modules. Have you ever considered how useful it would be to have all the sockets which are currently under you desk, on the desk itself. Standard things like power, telephone and data have been done before, but what about also having all the sockets on the back of your computer. USB, VGA, speaker and microphone, mouse, keyboard, and printer sockets all easily accessible. Plug and Play convenience at your fingertips.
-
Screen art. Remember
those boring fabric screens dividing your office. Now imagine those screens with your logo, design or real images printed on a standard screen which has been upholstered in a white close weave fabric.
Now you can divide your office space uniquely and imaginatively. Wooden frames upholstered with the same fabric can also be overprinted with anything you want and hung from the walls for added effect.
Your artwork can also be applied to white acrylic or Perspex screens for use in restaurant, breakout, or canteen areas.
-
Flip top meeting tables. Although not strictly “new”, modern technology has improved
the design and style of the mechanisms, making them easier to use and much cheaper.
If you have ever had to lug heavy folding tables around you will find the flip top design a delight to use. Just pull the lever and the top locks in a vertical position.
The tables even stack tightly next to each other, taking up the minimum of space. Locking wheels and tables connectors are also available options.
You can choose from hard wearing man made finishes to a wide range of real wood veneers, with either metal or wood clad support frames
-
Lamafon desk top screens. This amazing foam is now being used as the base-board for desk top and floor
standing screens. The foam absorbs 75% of any noise which hits it, and can, in the right environment, make a huge difference to the ambient noise in your workspace.
Matching wall panels can also be supplied to help reduce the noise level even further. A perfect solution for noisy call centres and sales offices
Also, instead of using a plain fabric to cover the foam, why not have some artwork, or you logo or design printed on a white fabric instead. Stylish, functional and unique
-
Pop up cable modules. These fit into standard cable post holes and provide instant power and data access points on demand. Ideal for “hot –desks”, meeting rooms, or anywhere where a desk is used for various purposes by a number of people.
Any combination of sockets can be specified, from Worldwide power sockets for you overseas visitors to use, to VGA/DMI sockets for your overhead projector in the training room. A really useful addition to any desk or table which is used by many different people
-
Height adjustable desks.
Not just height adjustable but electrically height adjustable. Immediate and effortless adjustment at the touch of a button.
Suits all heights, whether sitting or standing. The perfect way to avoid back ache, and a future-proof investment in any office.
A wide range of desk sizes and shapes, and either man made or wood veneer finishes to choose from. The increase in demand for electric desks has meant that prices have really fallen over the past few years, and they are now really good value

-
Mesh backed chairs. This design offers superior support and comfort as the back moulds to your shape more effectively than a foam upholstered chair.
These have been around for a while but only at the top of the pricing range. Improved production methods have made these chairs more widely available at reasonable prices.Very cool to look at and very cool in the summer. Fully adjustable seat and backrest height, and available with seat slides and lumbar support if required.
-
Standby, remote and timed power switching. Turn off all those things on your desk when you don’t need them, quickly and easil
y.
A PC, printer and screen on stand-by will use over 150,000 watts of power in a year, which equals you body weight in CO2 to produce this power. A properly planned electrical installation using these modules will substantially reduce your electricity bill. These units are becoming more and more popular, as the drive towards saving energy increases. We are seeing similar systems appearing in domestic appliances, so why not in the office as well.
-
Cable port USB hub. A great idea. Just replace your
standard plastic cover with one of these and connect the other end into your computer. No more scrabbling around under your desk trying to connect your memory stick into your CPU.
Especially useful if you computer is an older model where all of the USB ports are on the back of the computer.
When not in use the 4 ports just swivel out of the way. You can still use the port to manage your cables into the desktop, with this unit fitted, as the cables can run either side of the central module.
A great idea which, once fitted, you will wonder how you ever managed without one.
-
USB missile launcher. Once you’ve got your desk top USB Hub, you can fire your ro
ckets at your colleagues all day long.
Plug it into the cable port USB hub and launch your rockets using your keyboard
