Getting the most from your bench desks

GDB have recently launched an innovative bench desk system called 4Most which has been developed to solve most of the problems associated with this type of desk design.

It is well priced, available in a range of colours, and can be delivered and installed within a matter of days.

In addition, all of the complimentary units such as desk-top screens, cable trays, CPU holders, and monitor arms are also available from stock.

It has many advantages over similar looking bench desk systems, and these are not easily spotted when looking through brochures or on line pdf’s

The principle behind the bench desk design is a single frame which supports two desk tops which face each other. This layout or starter desk can be added to indefinitely to create long lines of rectangular workspaces, ideally suited for hot desks, sales desk, or call centres

All intermediate legs are set back under the desk for more flexibility, and the CPU holders can be mounted anywhere under the desk. The central dividing screens have inbuilt tool bars allowing you to attach a variety of desk accessories, as well as a flexible monitor arm or monitor mount, and this is where you will find this range’s major advantage.
Most bench desk systems use a standard desk top screen onto which is fitted a toolbar. These work fine for hanging desk accessories from, but it is a different story when monitors are mounted to the toolbar. The standard screen to desk mount is just not beefy enough to keep the monitor from vibrating, and this vibration is carried to both monitors mounted on a shared screen.
This vibration can be caused by colleagues walking past the desks, using the accessory trays hanging from the screen, or even just from heavy fingers on the keyboard. We have experienced this problem many times in the past and do not know of any other range of office furniture which adequately addresses it.

In fact we have found that some designs of screen brackets actually amplify the vibration, making it very difficult to use screen mounted monitors.

Underneath the dividing screen, beneath a cover plate, sits a steel cable tray, which will take all manner of power and data outlets, spare wires and transformers. All of this is easily accessible whilst seated at the desk, without the need for sliding tops or other complicated mechanisms. Once you have finished you just pop the cover back in place, and you are done.

The back to back configurations are available in a module size of 120cm, as either a starter unit or as an add-on unit. So for example if you wanted a block of 6 desks, each 120cm wide, you would order a 120 cm starter unit, and two of the 120cm add on units.

The metal work finish can be either graphite grey or silver, and the desk top finishes are grey, beech, oak, cherry, pear or French apple. The non reflective desk tops are 25 mm thick and are protected with a high performance coating which resists scratching and staining.
The range is guaranteed for 5 years and meets all of the relevant EN and BS standards.

All in all, this range will provide you with all you need from a bench desk system, and will work as you had hoped from the day the furniture is installed. It will meet all of your expectations, and may even save you a little money in the long run.

Standard desks and storage units are also available in the same finish and style, to further enhance your office
