training room With the ever increasing pressure on businesses to make the best use of their office space, we are more often than not specifying flip top tables as the ideal solution for most training and meeting room
requirements.
These tables have the advantage of being easily reconfigurable in minutes and the job can be carried out by anyone in the office.
Their clever design means that the weight of the table does not have to be lifted during the reconfiguration.
Once in their new layout, the castors can be locked and the meeting table tops fixed to each other with an easy to use locking bracket or hand wheel.

training room Most businesses nowadays have to make the best use of all of their office workspace.
Desks are getting smaller, although flat computer screens mean that this is not such a problem, and people are sitting much closer together. But clever design and the provision of a break out
and relaxation areas for the staff can actually improve working conditions.
The same applies to meeting areas, which have undergone a radical change in the last fifteen years. No longer do we see large offices filled with one expensive veneer boardroom table and equally expensive meeting chairs.
This office space is just to valuable to be left for the occasional use of senior board members and shareholders.
Instead these areas are being partitioned into smaller yet highly efficient meeting rooms.
These rooms are used on an almost continual basis with staff members booking in their time to use the space, whether for a formal meeting with clients, a general chat with colleagues about a specific project, or just somewhere quiet to work for a brief period.

training room Over the years we have seen training and meeting rooms getting smaller and smaller.
The need to fit more people in and have more meeting rooms, has
meant that offices are constantly being reconfigured to meet these demands.
Which is why we have added to our range of meeting tables which are available from stock, a smaller version of our popular and well priced barrel shaped meeting table.
This new table looks exactly like its bigger brother, but is slightly shorter at two metres long and only one metre wide ( at its widest point) .
The flat ends of the table are eighty centimetres, which is also slightly less than its bigger brother.
And, provided you are careful about which meeting chairs you choose, this table can still seat up to 8 persons.

Significant changes have been made to the First aid at Work Regulation with effect from the 1st of October 2009.
Businesses needs to familiarise themselves with these changes to avoid falling foul of the new regulations.
Although safety records in offices have improved significantly over the last 10 years there is still much to do. Many businesses comply in spirit only to the current regulations, not realising that there is a current legal requirement for first aid training, risk assessment and to appoint qualified personal within their offices.
Full details of the changes to be implemented can be found on the St Johns Ambulance site ( where there is also a very useful online questionnaire to help you find out if you are meeting your responsibilities).

training It is a fact that most successful businesses are full of motivated staff. They are more committed to their work, pay more attention to detail, make customer service their most important criteria, and most of all enjoy what they are doing. The business thrives from their extra input and they are rewarded for this success.
So, if the key to success is motivation, then how can a business motivate its staff?

training room Folding or stacking chairs have been around in many shapes and forms for the last 50 years, ranging from the good old polypropylene chair seen in most schools and social centres, to some designs which used state of the art materials and construction methods
Stacking and folding chairs were designed to offer flexible and occasional seating for large numbers of people, for short periods of time. As soon as the event was over the folding or stacking chairs could be piled onto trolleys and stored away until the next time they were needed. The room or hall could then be used for other purposes.
The chairs were light, durable and cheap, but not too comfortable and function was always more important than form

used furniture The simple answer is yes you can, as you are doing yourself what someone else would be paid to
do, so you can save their cost. But as with everything else, you need to ask if you want to save money this way. Maybe you are the type of person who services their own car, or performs minor surgery at home, in which case putting together some furniture will be a doddle.
But if you are like the rest of us, who tremble when the phrase flat-pack is mentioned, and your toolkit consists of the spanners you got with the lawnmower and some screwdrivers you bought from a stand at an agricultural show because they were cheap, then you need to consider very carefully what you are taking on. Office furniture is heavy, awkward, and easy to damage. It is designed to be assembled by professionals who know the products, which means no instruction manuals or diagrams. And you will only get enough fixings to do the job, and these will be unique to that range. You won’t find a replacement at B&Q.

training Most meeting rooms have to be used for many different purposes which means
you need furniture which is flexible. A great big veneer boardroom table is fine for the AGM but what about the rest of the year.
You should always design your meeting room on the basis of what it will be used for, for most of the time, in the same way as you don’t buy a 4×4 if you live in the middle of the city ( OK that is probably not a good example)
But if you think smart you can actually have it both ways.
Big solid tables look good but are impossible to reconfigure, and training tables are light and easy to move around, but when made into one big table for a large meeting they look terrible. A sea of legs and uneven tops greet your executives or your customers.

training A recent report by
the Health and Safety Executive stated that 30 million working days were lost in 2006/07 due to illness. Of these 10.7 Million days were lost due to musculoskeletal disorders and 3.5 million were due to work related upper limb or neck disorders.
These are pretty frightening statistics and the cost to the economy and your business is horrific. Maybe it is time to consider some of the possible causes and make sure that your staff are healthy and at work.
One of the main causes of upper limb or neck disorders in the workplace is the use of poorly designed furniture that does not meet the needs of the user, and worker ignorance as to how to use the furniture correctly. Continue reading »

training Deciding which office chairs to buy is not an easy decision but with a little research you can pick your way
through the multitude of products out there. Too many office furniture dealers sell on price alone but in reality price is never the number one priority. Certainly price is important but value for money is more so and ensuring your staff are sitting comfortably will pay dividends in increased productivity. The government has recently said that total cost of ill-health to the British economy is around £103bn and much of this is due to back problems. Continue reading »
