All in one computer trolleys. When personal computers started appearing in offices, they were still very expensive and the software required specific training. Consequently these machines were mounted on all purpose trolleys so that employees could take it in turn to be trained and use these machines. The trolleys meant that the computer could easily be moved from department to department. As computers became cheaper these trolleys appeared more and more as employees started using computers as part of their daily activities, but because of the expense of these machines, were still having to share a PC with a colleague. Once the true value of computers and their software was realised and prices tumbled as fast as usage increased, these trolleys became redundant as each employee now had their own computer. The trolleys were used a printer and copier stands but never sold in the volumes most office furniture dealers anticipated
