Keyboard trays 15 years ago most executives had a terminal situated at a lower level, to one side of their main desk. Under the housing or return for the terminal was a pull out keyboard tray. The executive only spent a small portion of his day at the terminal and so could put up with the cramped situation, the fact that the mouse was too far way, and the vibration and unwanted movement that no keyboard tray manufacturer has managed to resolve. As the years passed and PC’s became more commonplace, could do more, and required more of our time, the slide out keyboard tray became almost redundant and the PC moved to the main office desk, which had probably changed shaped into a radial or crescent shaped desk. Office furniture has been redesigned to allow the PC and its peripherals to be accommodated more efficiently as the use of PC’s has increased substantially.
