Office desk finishes. There are many different styles and finishes of desks available today, but the majority are steel framed with a man made wood finish top. The style of the frame is dictated by the overall price; simple rectangular tube frames with plastic floor levellers are found on the basic contract office furniture ranges, whilst stylish aluminium extruded designs are found on the higher prices ranges. The desk top finishes range from a dark walnut to a light maple or birch, which is almost white with a slight wood grain finish. Each manufacturer will produce their own version of a particular wood finish so don’t expect to be able to mix products from different manufacturer in one office area.
