The changing face of office furniture A number of years ago manufacturers of office desks began to evolve the shape of a standard desk from the traditional L shape of the secretary to a curved desk or crescent desk more suited the computer user. Over time variations on this general theme were created and single or double wave desks began to appear. The larger computer monitors became the larger desks needed to be. As computer manufacturers began to introduce flat screens to the mass market and these became more affordable desk manufacturers were able to modify their product ranges accordingly. This change has allowed interior designers more flexibility in the desking of office space and has in many cases led to an increase in personnel. In most cases there is no longer a need for these large cumbersome desks and smaller rectangular desks will achieve a more practical solution.
