Hot Desking
This phrase was very popular 10 years ago when it seemed that the future of every office environment would be identical workstations which any employee could use. The receptionist would allocate you a desk and you entered the office and you would drag your personal mobile pedestal from the pedestal garage and take it to your allocated desk. The receptionist would then allocate your personal telephone extension number to that desk and for the day it would be yours. To a degree this concept is still around, mainly in sales and representative offices where most of the employees are out of the office for the majority of the week. The concept however was not as practical as most visionaries first thought.
