Permanent Contact Mechanism
The entry level mechanism for operator seating is usually referred to as a permanent contact backrest. This is a simple form of adjustment that will offer the minimum requirement to ensure that seating complies with Health and Safety guidelines. A chair with this mechanism will have a five star swivel base, a gas height adjustment, allowing the height of the chair to be adjusted to suit the user and then the adjustable backrest. The backrest rake can be locked in position by means of a lever under the seat and then released as required. If required the backrest can be left in a free-float motion allowing the backrest to have permanent contact with the user at all times.
