Screened offices Many modern offices have done away with the traditional row of offices for the managers in favour of a more open plan layout, divided by chest high screens. This is mainly due to the need to improve the efficiency of the office space by increasing the number of staff working in a give area, and the need for additional staff areas such as break out or relaxation areas. The attitude to our working environment has changed dramatically over the 10 years, mainly from social and technological pressure. Managers are now much more integrated into the workforce and are not seen as the bosses behind closed doors. They are much more approachable which boosts moral in the workspace. Should they require more privacy for certain meetings etc, there is always a private meeting or training room which can be used.
