Legislation With legislation relating to commercial buildings changing constantly it is vital that client’s take professional advice before embarking on any form of office fit out or alteration. By far the best solution is for the client is to hand the entire project to a company that can plan and project manage the contract rather than trying to deal with each of the elements separately. Once a broad plan for the proposed project is agreed the project manager will involve the Local Authority and Building Control departments as required to ensure that the proposals meet current standards. With the recent addition of the Disability Discrimination Act a further dimension has been added and this legislation needs to be taken into account to ensure that the building conforms.
