Guidelines for buying a meeting table The first important consideration when buying a new meeting table is to be sure how it will be used as this will dictate the type of table required. This may seem obvious but if meetings are generally held in a boardroom style then a single table will be ideal but if there is a requirement to change the shape of table layouts because one day a formal meeting is held and the next a classroom style is required then a modular table will be more appropriate. Having decided on the basic style of table probably the most important consideration is space. One should allow at least 65 – 70cm per person to sit around a table, although more space may be required if large chairs are used. Meeting tables with curved ends are useful as they tend not to look as large as rectangular tables and can accommodate additional people on the curves as opposed to square end meeting tables.
