SUSPENSION FILES
The contents of these files are accessed from the top, and the label holders are fixed horizontally along the top edge of the file. A4 (33cm between hanging centres) is now the most common size, although in the UK Foolscap (36cm between hanging centres) is still widely used.
Suspension files are used in pullout filing frames, pedestal filing drawers, and filing cabinets. |

LATERAL FILING
The contents of these files are accessed from the front, and the label holders are fixed vertically along the front edge of the file.
All of our lateral filing has a distance between hanging centres of 33mm to fit our lateral filing frames.
Lateral files can be used in most of our storage cupboards

Pull out filing frames are available to fit most of our storage units. An integral anti-tilt mechanism prevents more than one frame being pulled out at a time
All of our steel shelves are designed to accept lateral filing as standard.
Even the inside top edge of our steel cupboards have been designed to take lateral filing, without the need for a shelf
